Cornell Notes, or the Cornell method for note-taking, provide an organized structure for students to use when recording and reflecting on notes. There is an area for taking notes during class, and then an area for them to summarize.
Note-taking is an important skill for students to develop and hone. The Cornell method is one way for students to collect and synthesize information. Model note-taking during lectures/lessons and prompt students to summarize or pull out key information. Gradually have students take their own notes using the same format to develop good habits.
