Activity Overview


The Capitol and each of the Districts in Panem are known for their victors, resources, and their location in what was the United States. Using what they've read and any inferences they can make, students will create travel posters for one of the districts. Students should consider what information the Capitol might include to entice visitors. This activity is a great way to encourage students to read closer and pick up on details they may have glossed over, as they should be able to support their creative choices with evidence from the text.

Students can choose their district or you can assign them a district. To extend the assignment, students can do research into the industry that currently exists in the geographical location of the district in order to add additional depth to the reasons people might want to visit.

Student Instructions

Create a travel poster for a District in Panem using what you've read about it in the text.

  1. Click "Start Assignment".
  2. Create your travel poster using scenes, images, characters, and items related to your District.
  3. Use any textables to add information about the District.
  4. Save and submit your storyboard.
